Over the centuries, its towering, steep sided volcanic crags have been home to hermits, clan chiefs and political prisoners. Today it hosts the worlds largest colony of Northern Gannets, and every year turns brilliant white with the sheer number crammed onto the outcrop. Its beauty draws visitors from around the world and is a magnet to artists.
