Made of silk, the backside and the top border are white with a large chrysanthemum and paulownia flower pattern, while the front side is a combination of bright red and gold featuring chrysanthemums and paulownia flowers. Uchishiki is mainly used by followers of Jodo Shinshu Buddhism on the upper table (Maejyoku) and the front
