I have acquired 2 paintings by the same artist. The other portrait is dated 1949 and is in the same colour palette as this painting, dating it from the same period. The style is very much of the Slade school of art style from that period. Measurements are 43cm W x 38cm H. The painting is framed in a simple black frame original to the painting.
