By carving a generous opening through a simple block of travertine, the stone feels lighter, while the recessed shelf adds a practical place for books or objects you want close at hand. In warmer spaces with oak, linen and textured plaster, it blends naturally into the architecture, almost feeling as though it was always meant to be there.
