n acetylcysteine vs s acetyl glutathione N-Acetylcysteine (NAC): Impacts on Human Health Advanced Complex-NAC Supplement (N-Acetyl L-Cysteine)

Low levels are linked to chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease

The tripeptide chemical nature of glutathione means that it is hydrolyzed rapidly by intestinal and hepatic gamma-glutamyltransferase, which hampers it from reaching clinically effective levels in the blood and reaching the cells that need it most

Diabetes: Oxidative stress due to low glutathione can worsen insulin resistance and contribute to the complications of diabetes such as nerve damage and cardiovascular issues

In animal models of HTN, incorporating papaya leaves into the diet helped stabilize both SBP and DBP and decreased arterial stiffness (222)
