Here's the honest data point: in a review of higher-dose IV glutathione (1,200 mg twice weekly for six weeks), about a third of participants experienced adverse events, including liver dysfunction and one case of anaphylaxis (Alzahrani et al., 2025)
Recent clinical studies showed that GSH levels in the brains of ALS patients were decreased compared to those of age-matched healthy volunteers [181], and the decrease of GSH levels was more prominent in the motor cortex than in the white matter of ALS patients [182]
