In December 2014, the members of the Eliminating Child Labour in Tobacco Growing Foundation (ECLT Foundation),[170] an industry-supported multi-stakeholder initiative based in Geneva, signed a joint pledge of commitment to combat child labor and to eliminate all forms of child labor within tobacco-sourcing chains.[171] The pledge states, ECLT Foundation Board members respect and recognize the principles and rights enshrined in the ILO Conventions and Recommendations on child labour. The pledge marked the first time members of the tobacco industry agreed jointly to abide by international labor law, which prohibits hazardous work by children under age 18, and sets a minimum age of 15 (14 in developing countries) for employment
